Triple the Fun: Celebrating Elena, Michaela, and Kailyn’s 4th Birthday at Kids Castle
This family session was extra special—we got to celebrate not just one, but three birthdays! Sweet sisters Elena, Michaela, and Kailyn all turned four, and their photo session at Kids Castle in Doylestown, PA was filled with joy, laughter, and birthday magic. I was so grateful to capture such a big milestone for them, and it truly felt like a day full of love.
The family wanted their session to feel real and playful, and Kids Castle was the perfect spot. From climbing and running to drawing with chalk, the whole location brought their personalities to life. Their mom shared that the girls “like being silly and playing games or pretend,” so we leaned into that energy with bubbles, playing/climbing at kids castle, and even a big shiny balloon shaped like the number 4.
This year was a big one for the girls—they finished their very first year of school and dance class. To celebrate, their parents wanted photos that showed who they really are right now: curious, joyful, and full of imagination. Instead of too many posed shots, we let them play, explore, and just enjoy being four. Their laughter while chasing bubbles and the way they held hands running across the playground gave us the sweetest, most natural photos.
One of the things I loved most about this shoot was how relaxed and fun it felt. Their mom mentioned that giving the girls time to just run around helps bring out their best smiles, and she was absolutely right. The candid moments—twirling in their dresses, drawing chalk masterpieces, and collapsing into family hugs—made the photos feel timeless.

I was so grateful to be able to capture this milestone for them, and let me tell you, it was nothing short of heartwarming.
The family wanted their session to feel like real life—playful, colorful, and outdoors. When their mom shared that the girls love chalk, bubbles, and pretend games, I knew this shoot was going to be fun from the very first click. We brought along bubble wands, chalk, and the cutest balloon shaped like the number 4 to keep the theme bright and joyful.
What made this year extra meaningful for the girls is that they just finished their very first year of school and dance class. That’s such a big step! Their mom shared, “They like being silly and playing games or pretend.” So we leaned into that playful energy, letting the girls run, laugh, and show off all the silly faces that make childhood so sweet.
One of my favorite parts of the session was how natural everything felt. Instead of posing too much, we let the girls play, slid, swing, & run! Their mom and dad were so open to letting them explore, which gave us the most authentic and candid shots. You could feel the love in every moment—whether it was a family hug or the sisters holding hands and making sure the others were close by in the giant park!
The birthday vibe made everything feel even more special. Turning four is such a big milestone, and these three were beaming with excitement. Their mom mentioned that letting them run and play for a few minutes helps capture their real smiles, and she was absolutely right. From the moment they started twirling in their dresses to chasing after each other... and me! Their personalities shined. They were truly and authentically themselves during this shoot!
