There is something really special about this season of life—the in-between. Not quite a kid, not quite fully stepping into the world. That’s exactly where TJ is right now, and getting to photograph him with Tiffany and his brother on April 10 at Nockamixon State Park made this session feel even more meaningful.
We met at the fishing pond and marina during the most beautiful golden hour. The light was soft and warm, reflecting off the water in the most peaceful way. Everything felt calm, slow, and easy—the kind of evening that just makes you want to stay a little longer.
From the start, you could feel how grounded and close this family is. Nothing over the top. Nothing forced. Just real connection.
TJ kept things simple when he filled out his questionnaire. When asked what he enjoys, he said, “Video games, war history.” When asked about his personality, he shared, “easy going.” And honestly… that describes him perfectly.
He showed up calm, relaxed, and just himself.

We spent time capturing TJ on his own by the water, but what made this session really special was including Tiffany and his brother. They came for a “family photo,” and I’m so glad they did.
And I have to say… I got John to smile.
That alone felt like a win!
But even better, we captured some amazing family moments—everyone laughing, arms linked together, just enjoying being in the moment. The kind of photos that feel alive. The kind you can hear when you look at them.
You can tell this is a family that doesn’t need a lot of direction. They just fall into each other naturally.

TJ mentioned his style is “plain… athletic pants and tshirt and zip up hoodie,” and I loved that he stayed true to that. It made everything feel honest and real—like a snapshot of who he is right now.
We also talked a little about what’s ahead. TJ shared that his plans are “work or trade school—still undetermined.” And I think there’s something really powerful about that.
Not having it all figured out yet is okay.
This moment, right here, is about celebrating who he is today.

One of the most meaningful parts of the session happened down on the dock at the marina during sunset. It was just TJ and Tiffany, with the sun dropping behind them and the water glowing.
Those images felt quiet. Emotional. Real.
The kind of photos that don’t need words.
⸻
One of my favorite things about this session was how easy everything felt. No big plans. No specific ideas. When asked if there was anything special he wanted, TJ simply said, “No.”
And sometimes… that’s when the magic happens.
Because we get to focus on what really matters:
the laughter, the connection, the golden light, and the moments you don’t plan for.

This session at Nockamixon State Park was a reminder that not every story needs big, loud moments. Some stories are calm. Steady. Strong.
And TJ’s story is just beginning.
Tiffany, thank you so much for trusting me with this time in your life. It truly means so much to capture these memories for your family. I can’t wait to see where life takes TJ next.
