Welcoming Roman & Levi | An In-Home Twin Newborn Session in Pennsylvania
There is something so special about walking into a home that already feels full of love.
When I arrived for Rachel and Sam’s newborn session, their home was peaceful, cozy, and filled with the sweetest little newborn sounds. Instead of spending most of our time in the nursery, we settled into Rachel and Sam’s bedroom. The soft sage green walls, beautiful natural light, and cozy blankets created the perfect backdrop for documenting this new season of life.
Sometimes the best studio is simply home.
Two Tiny Boys, So Deeply Loved
Rachel kept her hopes for the session beautifully simple.
Those are some of my favorite sessions because they leave room for genuine moments to unfold naturally.
Roman and Levi were so tiny. Every little stretch, sleepy yawn, and snuggle reminded me just how quickly these newborn days pass.
Rachel had also mentioned beforehand that the boys, being premature, loved to grunt, spit up, and strain when they were moved.
But honestly?
That was part of their story.
There was no pressure to make them do anything they weren’t ready for. We simply slowed down, followed their lead, and captured them exactly as they were.
A Family Full of Kindness
One of my favorite parts of the morning wasn’t something I photographed.
It was simply watching Rachel and Sam together.
Rachel couldn’t stop loving on her boys. She gently rubbed their little arms, kissed their tiny heads, and looked at them with so much tenderness. Those quiet moments became some of my favorite photographs from the entire session because they were completely real and genuine.
And Sam was just as thoughtful.
From the moment I walked in, he made me feel welcome. He even offered to make me breakfast, which was so incredibly kind. Throughout the morning, he was constantly checking on Rachel, making sure she was comfortable and had everything she needed while the two of them settled into life with their newborn twins.
You could see how much they cared for each other.
It wasn’t just about welcoming two beautiful baby boys.
It was about watching a family take care of one another.
The Beauty of Everyday Moments
Some families worry that their home isn’t “perfect” enough for photographs.
The truth is, perfection has never been the goal.
The soft morning light.
A cozy bed.
Tiny, healthy, loved, babies wrapped in blankets.
Parents completely in love with this new chapter.
That’s what makes photographs timeless.
Years from now, I hope Rachel and Sam don’t just remember what their room looked like.
I hope they remember how it felt to hold Roman and Levi when they were still small enough to fit against their chests.
