A Lavender Field Session with My Best Friend Brittany 🌿💜
Some sessions are extra special — and this one filled my heart in the best way. Brittany isn’t just a client, she’s my best friend, and I had the joy of capturing this sweet stage of her life as she, her husband Steve, and their daughter Harper get ready to welcome two more little loves into the world. Yes… twins! When she told me the news, I was just as shocked and excited as she was. "THERE'S TWO!?" YES!
We met at the gorgeous Warwick Furnace Farm, where the lavender fields were in full bloom. The soft purple rows and golden light made the perfect backdrop for a family that’s as beautiful inside as they are out. Brittany’s due date is January 31, 2026, and she’s been powering through pregnancy with humor and grace. She told me, “I feel like poop lolll,” but you’d never know it from the way she glowed in the evening sun.
This new adventure is extra special because Brittany and Steve are already amazing parents to Harper. During our shoot, we talked about how Harper is going to be the best big sister — full of love, curiosity, and probably a little sass (in the cutest way). Watching her run between the lavender rows, laughing and twirling, made my heart melt.
We wanted a mix of fun, flirty moments and soulful, romantic shots, so we laughed a lot, but also captured quiet, peaceful photos that showed just how much love is already in this family. Brittany didn’t mind getting a little sandy or brushing against lavender stems, which gave us some playful, carefree moments that feel like pure summer magic.
When I asked about her journey into motherhood, she simply said, “Twins… we are shocked.” That one sentence says it all — a beautiful surprise that will double the love, the laughter, and yes… the diapers!
Photographing Brittany and Steve with Harper in the lavender fields felt like freezing a piece of their story in time — a moment before life changes in the most wonderful way. I’m so grateful they trusted me, not just as their best friend, but as their photographer, to capture this chapter. I can already see us doing another session once the twins arrive, with Harper proudly by their side.
